Last week, children in Year 2 planned and wrote a letter to their teacher pretending that they were in either the Arctic or the Antarctic, giving excuses as to why they couldn’t come to school. We had studied both habitats and what it might be like to be there. We also looked at globes and atlases to find the equator and the North and South Pole.
We are now starting our new Mini Mission based on the story ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak. In this Mini Mission we will be focusing on descriptions of settings and characters as well as exploring living things and their habitats.
