General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation is a new law that came into effect from 25th May 2018.
The law applies to all organisations that handle or use personal data and this includes schools.
The law means that organisations are no longer allowed to use or share your personal information without your consent.
As a school, we do hold personal data, for example, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth etc but this is in never shared or used by any third party organisations that we employ to store this information.
All personal data on the school operating systems, Arbor, ParentPay, Insight and ClassDojo, are held securely.
The implementation of the law has required us to review and amend our policies in relation to data protection and we will issue revised privacy notices in due course.
As the school is part of the North West Academies Trust and all schools operate the same policies in relation to GDPR, we have appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Our DPO is Steve Docking, CEO of North West Academies Trust and should you have any questions in relation to data protection please feel free to contact your schools Headteacher directly.
