Tadpoles, curry, athletics and more…
Topic learning in Year 2
Just before the Easter holidays Year 2 held an ‘Indian afternoon’ to celebrate our topic. We cooked curry for all the parents and the children showed off their Indian dance moves. Many thanks again to Tesco of Ellesmere for donating the ingredients for the curry. The afternoon was a great success.
We also held a KS1 athletics ‘house’ morning where we competed in our house teams in activities such as standing jump, target throw, javelin and sprints. We are in the process of picking a team of 12 children to take part in an inter-school athletics competition next month.
This week, the children have been learning about the life cycles of various animals and writing explanation texts in English. We are currently “raising” 10 tadpoles and are hoping to witness their metamorphosis over the coming weeks.
We are also very excited to be going on our Year 2 residential to Kingswood next week. Some of the activities we have planned are climbing, orienteering, night-line and mini- Olympics. We will update you about our adventures on our return!
