Sports Competition Roundup
Over the past week we have attended three competitions New Age Kurling, KS1 Football and Cross country.
Our competition calendar kicked off with a School Games ‘New Age Kurling’ competition at The Marches School. A team of four children from Year 5 represented the school at the tournament. This was the first time that they had played the sport. After the preliminary round the team managed to secure a place in the trophy round and finished 4th. Incredible for their very first attempt. New Age Kurling is a great all inclusive sport and as a result we have ordered two of our very own sets so more children can have a go at the sport.
On Wednesday afternoon, KS1 attended their very first football tournament at Delamere Academy. A team of 8 children from Year 2 went to the competition. The team represented our school brilliantly. After two wins, two draws and two loses the team finished in 4th place. There were a number of brilliant goals scored, great team work and smiles all round. Well done KS1!
Finally we finished the week with the first School Games Cross Country event of the year. A team of children from across Key Stage 2 took part in the competition. This was the first time some of the team had taken part in a cross country event. Within each race over 100 children were competing. We had a number of individual successes including a 4th, 6th and 9th position. Well done everyone, our next cross country event is next week.
