Over the past two weeks we have had a number of sporting successes across Key Stage 2.
Our first event was a Key Stage 2 basketball competition at The Marches. Children from year 6 represented the school at the event. The children did a fantastic job after only playing together as a team once before the event. After working together as a team and showing off their fantastic skills on the pitch the team won their group, well done team!
Our second sporting success of the month came from our gymnastic team. In November the team finished third in the first event, this then meant that the children could progress onto the advanced competition held at Ellemsere. Winning teams from all over Shropshire came to compete in the event. The team learnt a brand new routine for the competition and came away with a bronze medal, well done girls!
Our third success of the last two weeks came from our Hockey B team. The B team event was originally meant to be held before Christmas but got postponed due to the weather. The team got back together to have a few practices before the event and they won their group. Another great hockey result!
Our final success of the last two week came from our netball team. The netball team have been training together since October. They were fantastic on the pitch and it was obvious how well the children knew each others strengths and weaknesses. As a result of their brilliant team work the children won their group. The team are going to continue to play together over the coming year.
We are looking forward to the Key Stage 1 events which are coming up over the next two weeks.
