Our new mini mission up until half term is ‘Sharing the Planet’. We will be focusing on ocean animals, their habitats and the effects of plastic pollution (see photos attached for the hook we delivered to start the topic).

This week in English we have begun learning facts about ocean animals to support our poetry focus of writing riddles next week. The children have enjoyed learning about all the different ocean animals and have learnt some incredible facts. We can’t wait to read their riddles next week!

In Maths, we have continued our focus on ‘The Cherry Models’ (part, part, whole model). We have been learning how to find the missing answers in the ‘Cherry Models’ and exploring how to part the numbers in different ways.

In our Science lessons, we have been learning about the human organs by using technology to find out/see these organs. We labelled the picture of each of the body parts and were able to say the functions of these organs. This week we have begun to classify animals into mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

In Topic, we have been learning about the countries of the UK and labelling these countries. Moreover, we have been learning about the Ocean Habitats and why ocean animals are best suited to that habitat.
