PTA Halloween Disco
We invited all of our children to come and join us at the PTA Halloween Disco this afternoon. It was such an exciting day. The children came dressed in their Halloween costumes.
The children talked about the pumpkin lanterns they were going to make at home. We sliced the top off our pumpkin and found out what was inside. The children enjoyed scooping out all of the slimy, slippery seeds. We rinsed them, tossed them in oil and roasted them. Everyone had a taste and thought they were good!
The children practised their cutting skills to make pumpkins which we hung to decorate our nursery and some of them made their pumpkins into badges to decorate their costumes! The pumpkin spiced orange playdough caught the children’s imaginations as they gave their hand and finger muscles a good workout rolling, squeezing, patting, moulding and pinching and they used lots of maths talk as they made different sized pumpkins, cut them up and shared them.
Some ‘witches’ and ‘wizards’ wrote spells and mixed them up in their cauldrons and others practised some potion mixing with different coloured liquids. They were fascinated to find out that they could make so many different colours just by mixing different combinations of blue, yellow and red. The favourite colour was ‘poisonous purple’!
The afternoon disco was such an exciting end to our day. Fantastic dance moves Nursery children!
A big thank you to our fantastic PTA for a fun celebration!
