Creative pupils at Ellesmere Primary School show their egg-celence!
There was no sign of Teresa May cracking when Ellesmere Primary School pupils decorated eggs for an Easter competition.
The under-fire PM’s brain may be scrambled by Brexit, but she appeared easy-over a ‘Br-eggs-it’ work of art at the Elson Road school.
Children had a smashing time when given free range to use their imaginations for the annual event, and depicted all sorts from Donald Trump, the ‘Egglantic Ocean’ and Easter bunnies.
Prizes were awarded during a special assembly to the best from each year group.
Ethan Wynn (reception), Ella Morgan (nursery) and Lucas Allen (reception).
Lottie and Megan Braddick (Year 1), Louie Dubicki (Year 2), Tilly Willsmer (Year 1) and Sam and Jessica Udal-Bell (Year 2 and Nursery)
Lottie Carter (Year 3), Lacey Price (Year 3) and Shannon Stubbs (Year 6).
Stuart Roberts, Headteacher at the Elson Road school, said: “To see all the creations on display was fantastic.
“Everyone clearly put so much work into the designs and we were really impressed with the originality and skills they’ve used to create them.”
The school is part of North West Academies Trust (NWAT), which is one of the highest performing Trusts in the country, overseeing a number of schools in Shropshire and Cheshire.
At all NWAT schools, children are encouraged to learn through new experiences and challenge themselves to achieve their very best.
Having joined the Trust in September 2016, the school is showing consistent improvements in attainment across all subjects and increased pupil numbers, with maths being a particular strength, moving from 67% in 2016 to 80% last year.
The school is also proud to have been awarded the Gold School Games mark in recognition of the vast range of sporting opportunities available to all pupils.
