Another Successful Week In Wales And Scotland
We have had another successful week in Wales and Scotland class. The children are becoming confident with the daily routines and their independence is growing enormously.
We have continued our daily Read Write Inc. sessions which are proving to be very popular! The children enjoyed their second PE and swimming sessions where they demonstrated confidence and independence. Our focus in Literacy this week has been ‘good listening’. We talked about what makes a good listener….
We listened to the story ‘The Listening Walk’. We decided to go on our own listening walk around our school. The children wore big ears and recorded what they heard on their clip boards. Some of the children said that they’d like to go on a listening walk with their family this weekend. If you are fortunate enough to get out for a walk, don’t forget to write about it on your child’s learning journal on ‘Tapestry’ as we would love to hear all about it.
Wales class enjoyed their first Forest School session. The children remembered our rules for the forest and made sure that they followed them. We enjoyed climbing, balancing, swinging, exploring, relaxing in the hammock and making tasty forest delights in the mud kitchen! We also spent some time listening carefully in the forest to see if we could hear any different sounds to the sounds that we’d heard around the school.
We have continued our theme ‘All About Me’ this week. The children have enjoyed being artists and painted some amazing self portraits on canvas. We hope that you enjoy spotting your child out in the foyer!
