Rock Star Role Play and Beetle Drive
This week, year four are in preparation mode! Role play for biographies and beetle drive practise for our family fun night on Friday.
Year four have had lots of fun this week getting themselves prepared for the harder stuff. First of all, they used their fabulous acting skills and imaginations to role play imaginary rock stars. They will be using the details of these characters to write an imaginary biography about them. The children were fabulous and really got stuck in with getting into character, as you can see from our featured image! Sophie performed a fabulous Californian accent for her singer and dancer who was born in Britain but moved to America when she was young. Macy served as a great interviewer too, making sure she asked a mixture of open and closed questions. Well done girls, so entertaining!
Their next challenge was to use their addition skills to practise for the school’s Family Fun Night on Friday evening. Most of the children had never heard of or played a Beetle Drive before, but they soon got the hang of it and became quite the competitors.

Next week we will be able to show you the exciting results of our Topic project based on World Conflicts. We began by studying World War 2 with our trip to Bewdley on our first week back of the Autumn term. The children were taught some research and sketching skills and discussed the purpose and features of propaganda. They were then given the challenge of applying these skills by choosing from a list of world conflicts. Next week, we will be holding an open afternoon for parents to come and view the children’s projects as part of an exhibition. The children have been challenged to find a way to make their exhibitions stand out from the crowd. Watch this space!
