Admissions
Here at Ellesmere Primary School we love to welcome new children to our school. Whether you are looking for a place in our Reception class at the beginning of your child’s learning journey, or have children transferring from another school, we will do our best to make applying for a place as simple as possible. Choosing a school for your children is a hugely important decision and there is nothing better than first-hand experience when doing so.
We know a website can only tell you so much so this is why we encourage you to visit our school for yourself together with your family. It is also important for you to meet the school leaders and hear about what their vision is for the school and it is equally important for you to be able to ask questions about how the school’s provision will ensure that your child’s potential is fulfilled.
If you would like to arrange a visit to our school anytime please phone the school office on 01691 622288 or please Click here to contact the admin team via email.
In year Admissions
Parents who wish to move their child during the school year, should contact the school in the first instance and the process of application will be explained to them. The school is responsible for all applications and any subsequent appeals for places. Admission is then determined using our over-subscription criteria contained within our admission policy and adheres to the DfE published schools appeals code. Our Planned Admission number (PAN) is 45 per year group. Further guidance on appeals can be found via the DfE link. A copy of the application form for a school place is listed below and our appeals process.
Admissions arrangements for pupils with SEN or disabilities
The school’s admissions arrangements are determined by the Governing Body. No pupil will be refused admission to the school on the basis of his or her special educational needs. In line with the SEN and Disability Act, we will not discriminate against disabled children and will take all reasonable steps to provide effective educational provision. Please see the policy attached below for more details. For LAC or any other additional need please see the policy attached.
