Phew! What a busy week we’ve had!
On Monday the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the handball house sports event. The children were great sports and did themselves proud.
During maths this week the children have been learning about percentages. Following on from decimals and fractions, they have learnt common conversions and investigated the relationships between the three. They have also been learning how to calculate percentages of amounts.
We have also been very busy working on our South America projects. We are delighted with the effort and enthusiasm which everyone has put into their work. We have such a wide variety of ideas; an interactive map of South America, a model of South America, fact files etc. The children are excited to show off their work to you at the open afternoon next Thursday.
Today we enjoyed an exciting visit from a special visitor: Ian bland. The children first had an assembly hosted by Ian where he performed many of his poems. Each class then in turn took part in a poetry workshop with Ian where they learnt about the creative process of writing poems. The children let their imaginations run wild! Thank you Ian for a brilliant day!
