Andrew has taught across all Year groups from Reception to Year 6 and was a Local Authority Science Advisory teacher. He took up his first headship in 1995 and became head teacher in Ellesmere in October 2014 – his fourth headship. In all of his leadership positions he has developed his practice and all have moved from positions of weakness into ones of strength with at least good judgements from OfSTED. He is a qualified Special Needs coordinator and executive Head teacher. He is passionate about child focused learning and meeting the needs of the whole child through the provision of a wide range of enrichment opportunities.
Outside school he enjoys being part of a strong Christian community, is married with two grown up children. He loves taking his dog for walks, enjoying the countryside and National Trust properties and fills the rest of his time with DIY projects!
Linda is the Nursery Teacher and EYFS Phase Lead. Linda studied at Manchester Metropolitan University gaining a BA (Hons) in Early Years Education (3-7years) and a PGCE. She has a passion for Early Years education and has had considerable experience in both the maintained and non-maintained sectors, in further education as an Early Years NVQ assessor and also working within the Local Authority Early Years Advisory Team . Linda is a qualified Forest School leader and loves the outdoors. She has lived abroad in Germany and Cyprus and, outside school, enjoys walking, reading and spending time with her family.
Kelsey is an experienced teacher, who has taught for over 17 years in schools in Nottinghamshire, Stoke on Trent and Shropshire. She has held leadership roles in two schools and has been actively involved in driving school improvement. Kelsey is a qualified SENCO and has gained further qualifications in Special Educational Needs, which she is passionate about. Kelsey supports other schools developing SEND provision. Outside of school, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family, running and cycling.
Rebecca completed her BA Hons degree in Primary Education at Glyndwr University in Wrexham. She has been teaching at Ellesmere Primary School for four years, having spent two years in Year 1 and a further two years in EYFS. Outside school Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
Gemma completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Edge Hill University. Previously she gained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sport Development and a Postgraduate Master of Research in Sport Science degree at Glyndwr University. Before she began her teaching career she was a lifeguard and teaching assistant which sparked her passion for teaching. Gemma has previously taught year 3 and is now one of our year 1 teachers. Gemma enjoys playing and coaching sport. She plays golf for the county and regularly swims, cycles and plays hockey. Outside of school she enjoys baking, spending time with family and friends and walking her dog.
Gemma completed her BEd (Hons) degree at Chester University. She is currently one of our Year 1 teachers. Gemma has experience in working across KS1 and has a passion in supporting and enhancing children’s experiences through this phase. She enjoys coaching sports and organising educations trips. Outside of school Gemma plays netball in the local league and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Abi has taught in schools in both Kirklees and West Cheshire before joining the team at Ellesmere. She has been in leadership roles, including leading a resource provision, working with children with various educational needs, and has taught across Key Stage 1 & 2. Abi has completed an NPQSL and an MA in Education, giving her the opportunity to develop her understanding of different educational issues, with the aim of driving school improvement. Outside school Abi enjoys spending time with her children and husband exploring the outdoors, visiting new places, baking and reading stories. She is also a keen runner and has completed 10k road and trail runs. She is hoping to run a half marathon soon.
Kate is an experienced teacher having taught for over twenty years across both key stages. In the past, she has travelled widely gaining an insight into many different cultures. Now she is settled with a family and enjoys yoga, swimming and reading.
Sarah is an experienced Key Stage One teacher. She graduated from Staffordshire University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Studies and International Relations. After a few years working in France as a holiday representative she studied a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. In her spare time she likes travelling, mountain biking, surfing, skiing and hiking.
Jade completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Primary Education and has taught within Key Stage One and Two over the last four years. Jade is also a qualified Women’s Artistic gymnastics coach and club judge, having coached competitive gymnastics for over 6 years. Jade enjoys mountain biking, indoor climbing and bouldering and walking with her dogs in her spare time.
Jessie completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education at Chester University, having had placements across both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Previous to that, she completed a three year Bachelor of Arts (with hons) degree in Education and Early Childhood Studies and currently works in Sydney class. Jessie has a strong passion for music and the arts. Outside school she enjoys playing the violin, visiting new places with her friends, and spending time with her family.
Gemma is a new member of the team who teaches Washington class in Year Four. Before completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education with Edge Hill University, she trained and worked as a HLTA in a primary school in Wrexham for five years, working across all ages. Alongside her HLTA work, she gained an Honours Degree in Education with Glyndwr University. In her spare time she enjoys family days, dog walking and learning to play the guitar. She has a passion for music and drama which she loves to incorporate into her lessons.
Sarah has worked in schools for the last ten years after gaining a BA Honours in the University of Wales. She has worked in both Key Stages 1 and 2, often supporting special needs children and running catch up reading programmes. She completed a PGCE at Chester University in July this year and joined Ellesmere shortly after as a Year 4 teacher. Outside school she enjoys spending time with her family, has a passion for music and art, and is an experienced wedding cake decorator.
Emily completed her degree in Primary Education at The University of Chester last Summer. Since then she has worked as a supply teacher in the Wrexham area before joining us at Ellesmere. She is now the year 5 teacher for Moscow class.
Outside school Emily enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the gym and visiting new places.
Kelly is now in her second year of teaching at Ellesmere after completing her NQT year here last year. She is one of our year 5 teachers and the IT and Science lead. Kelly completed her PGCE with the West Midlands Consortium. She previously worked as a teaching assistant in Cheshire schools for 7 years whilst also studying towards her BA Hons degree in Education. In her spare time Kelly enjoys playing netball for her local team, spending time with friends and family, cooking and long walks with her dog.
Suzanne is an experienced member of our teaching team. She graduated from Charlotte Mason College in Ambleside in 1997 and has taught in a number of schools in different counties. She currently teaches in year 6, where she enjoys the balance of the challenge of SATs preparation with the week's residential and end of year performance. Suzanne has two children who have both attended Ellesmere Primary School. Her family enjoys walking and mountain biking with their dog, Buddy.
Vicki is an experienced member of our team having taught across KS2 for the past 11 years. She is particularly experienced in year 6 with regard to SATs preparation and end of Key Stage expectations. Vicki is our English lead with responsibility for writing development throughout the school. Vicki is also a moderator for the county. Outside school Vicki enjoys swimming, travelling, eating out and spending time with family. Vicki spent a year living in Australia and is hoping to return for an extended holiday soon!
Sue’s role in school is to provide support for all students and their families who may be going through a difficult time and to encourage and motivate all children to do their best.
Sue is a trained co facilitator for the Solihull Approach and is part of the team delivering the Understanding Your Child course to both parents and staff at Ellesmere Primary and surrounding primary schools.
Sue also runs our school breakfast club.
Tammy is an experienced Nursery Nurse who has worked in our school for over twenty years. She works within the EYFS team and loves working with our youngest children. She is a qualified Forest School leader and leads all year groups across each key stage of the school. She is passionate about outdoor learning and the benefits to children. As a parent and member of staff Tammy enjoys being the vice chair of the PTA and has raised thousands of pounds for the school over the years.
Molly completed a BA(Hons) Degree in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years. She has worked in the Early Years department for a few years.
Molly enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Anne-Marie is a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant with over 17 years experience. She has worked across all key stages and is currently leading interventions across Early Years Foundation and Key Stage 1. She is a Phase leader, within this role she plans and delivers PPA cover to allow teaching staff release time from class.
Anne-Marie is a dedicated member of staff who is passionate about Special Educational Needs, especially Speech and Language. She delivers the TALKBOOST intervention programme to support children's communication and language development.

Jess completed her degree in Childhood and Youth studies through The Open University. She is now the Phase HLTA for Lower Key Stage 2. Outside school, Jess loves to spend time with her family.
Marie is a qualified Primary Teacher with experience in working with young people learning difficulties and disabilities. She is currently Phase HLTA for Upper Key Stage Two. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her young family in the great outdoors and baking.
Molly is a teaching assistant who teaches music in school. She has worked at Ellesmere Primary for 4 years and has a passion for singing, in and out of school. She has a grade 8 in singing and musical theatre. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and running around after her 2 year old daughter!
Lucy has worked at Ellesmere Primary school for several years. Lucy is a qualified N.N.E.B nursery nurse in the Early years department of the school. Lucy enjoys spending time with her family.
Lorna has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Ellesmere Primary for several years. She has worked as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant within school and currently works in the Early Years Department which she really enjoys. Outside school Lorna enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking and finding fun ways to try to keep fit!
Kaye is a qualified Nursery Nurse who began working at Ellesmere Primary when its Nursery was first opened in September 1983. After 26 years in this post Kaye moved to support children in a Reception/Yr 1 class. Currently Kaye provides support in a Reception class whilst also working with intervention groups in Y1 and some sessions in Nursery.
In her spare time Kaye enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, photography, reading and eating out.
Judith has worked as a teaching assistant at the school for a number of years, mainly in KS1. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and walking her dog.
Sharon completed a PGCE in Secondary Education specialising in Geography at Aberystwyth University. She worked as a Geography and Humanities teacher in Manchester and North Shropshire, with responsibility for Geography department at a local secondary school, for almost twenty years. She has worked in EYFS and KS1 in Ellesmere Primary school for the last few years as an SEN LSA. Sharon has a keen interest in Wildlife and works with several local conservation groups, she also enjoys cycling, walking and spending time at the beach.
Sue has worked at the school as a teaching assistant for 5 years and a SEN support for 4 years.
She currently runs a Cool Kids exercise programme and a reading support group.
In her leisure time she enjoys walking her dog.
Rachel has been a Teaching Assistant for ten years, particularly aiding and supporting pupils with special educational needs across the age ranges. Following an HND in Business Studies and a Certificate in Adult Training, she took Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Her particular responsibilities are with the Behaviour Team, Makaton and First Aid. Leisure time pursuits include music, local choir, musical theatre and walking.
Yvonne has worked at the school for a number of years and has moved into Key Stage 2 supporting a SEN child.
She is a member of the Girl Guiding movement and she currently runs a Rainbow and Brownie pack in her spare time.
Katrina has worked at the school for several years, mainly in Key stage 2 supporting children with special needs. Outside school, she enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
Tricia previously worked as a Business Manager for the Crown Prosecution Service before joining the team at Ellesmere Primary School in 2013. She recently completed her Level 5 ILM Accredited Diploma in School Business Management and is part of the school’s Senior Leadership Team. She is also a member of NASBM (National Association of School Business Managers). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and going on long walks.
Laura previously worked as a Local Government Officer within the Transport department of Cheshire East Council (formally Cheshire County Council) before joining the school in April 2013. Laura oversees the smooth running of the day to day business requirements of the school office. She spends most of her spare time up on the Llyn Peninsula with her husband and pet Labrador.
Katie joined the office team at Ellesmere Primary School in September 2015. She is currently in the final stages of completing her Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration; having completed her Level 2 NVQ qualification in Business Administration working as a Medical Secretary. Katie would like to continue learning and gain qualifications in management. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her son, being creative, designing and producing crafts.
Eddie joined the team in 2013 as the school's site caretaker. Eddie is a qualified Electrician and has previously worked in New Zealand, China & Australia. He is also a UEFA qualified Football Coach and runs both a lunchtime and afterschool football club. In his spare time Eddie enjoys travelling, history and reading.
Chrissy has worked at the school for a number of years providing support as both a lunchtime supervisor in KS1 and as a valued member of the premises team ensuring the school is kept clean and tidy. Chrissy enjoys dressmaking in her spare time.
Paula has worked at the school for a number of years providing support as both a lunchtime supervisor in KS1 and as a valued member of the premises team ensuring the school is kept clean and tidy. In her spare time Paula is a keen pigeon fancier and likes spending time with her family.
Sharon has worked at Ellesmere for four years and has vast experience in the catering industry having worked in a pub restaurant before having 3 boys. Sharon has recently worked hard to gain her Level 3 in Business Management in the Hospitality Services. In her spare time she enjoys singing as a member of her local community choir.
Lorraine is an experienced member of our kitchen team who originally started work at Ellesmere as an export dining assistant. She has a young family and enjoys walks with her dogs and family.
Marie is an experienced member of our kitchen team who originally started work at Ellesmere 10 years ago but who has recently stepped up and taken on more responsibility as a vegetable cook. Marie is also part of the school's premises team and provides support in ensuring the school is clean and tidy. She enjoys family life with her husband and 2 daughters.
Julie is the newest member of our kitchen team having previously worked as a lunchtime supervisor within the school. Julie has a busy family life and in her spare time enjoys sewing and craft.
Annette transports and serves our meals to a local school. She has wide experience and is a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant. In her spare time Annette enjoys doing crafts.
Sonia has worked at Ellesmere since 2001 as a valued member of the premises team ensuring the school is kept clean and tidy on a daily basis. Sonia enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an active member in her community looking after the elderly.
Pat has worked at the school for a number of years holding a number of positions including that of TA level 3. She is currently one of our senior lunchtime supervisors and is leader of our after school care club, Merekats. In her spare time Pat enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Mary works as an Assistant Club Leader providing wrap around care to children in Merekats After School Club. She enjoys preparing and doing craft activities with the children. In her free time she makes cards and is also a keen gardener and loves spending time with her family.
Elli started at school as an apprentice teaching assistant in April 2014. In her spare time she enjoys going to the cinema and spending time with family and friends.
Sue has been at school for more than 30 years in various roles and is currently responsible for teaching swimming across the whole school. She enjoys outdoor activities including walking, canoeing and body-boarding. Other hobbies include landscape photography and she particularly likes early morning walks to photograph sunrises.
