We can’t get enough of this funny, exciting and energetic book!
In Literacy this week we have been learning all about rhyme. We have been singing familiar rhymes, listening to stories containing rhyme and laughing lots at all of the amazing rhyme in ‘Oi Frog’. We can’t wait to get our hands on ‘Oi Dog!’ and ‘Oi Goat!’
Here is a photo of us writing down our own list of rhyming words!
In child initiated time, some children asked me to teach them how to draw a frog. We all learned together, following step-by-step instructions.
In Maths this week we have been doing lots of subtraction. ‘Subtraction Squish’ proved to be great activity and one child said excitedly, ‘I have play dough at home, I’m going to do this game there!’ Another exciting game was a subtraction bowling game. We counted the amount of skittles we started with, then how many were knocked down, and finally, how many we had left. So many of our children have been challenging themselves this week in Maths, we are very proud of them!
Next week we are moving on to doubling!
In child initiated time this week we spotted something new in our garden. We were curious to find out where it came from and what we were going to do with it. We found out that Mr Mort had been saving it in his garage for us to play with! We spent the whole afternoon exploring it. We cleaned it, we built in and around it, we talked and shared ideas.
We ended up having a wonderful adventure in France! We listened to the radio and stopped for a tasty picnic.
I wonder what next time will bring?
