As part of an initial hook into Year 4's new Topic ‘World Conflicts’, they will be travelling down to Bewdley museum to take part in their ‘Look out it’s the Blackout’ experience. The children will build upon their previous experience of World War 2 by discovering what is was like for Evacuees and as well as being in an Anderson Shelter.
During this trip, the children will march through Chester City Centre wearing replica armour and carry shields. They will also take part in a Roman workshop and will have time to explore the Roman museum.
This will be a fantastic experience for the children to immerse themselves within Roman life and to see firsthand the famous walled city. The children will have a comprehensive guide throughout the day and we are sure their knowledge will spark questions ready for their Autumn topic.
Each year, we take our Year 6 pupils to the Oswestry Showground to take part in the ‘Lifeline’ initiative. Pupils are encouraged to explore their own perceptions of danger; expand on these perceptions and learn how to keep themselves safe in their homes and in the local area.
