As we come to the end of our sporting calendar in Key Stage 1, it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of all of our teams this year. This has been our most successful sporting year in Key Stage 1 winning all three of the cluster competitions this year, an incredible achievement!

In February the gymnastics team started off our run of success to win the competition for the very first time. Children from Year 2 represented the school in the competition and performed both a floor and vault routine. At the competition we had a number of individual golds.

Following on from the gymnastics we went onto win the KS1 athletics competition for the third consecutive year. The team had to compete in field events which included javelin, triple jump, speed bounce and sitting ball throw as well as track events which included sprints and relays. We again had a number of individual winners on the different events out of all of the other children at the event.

Our final competition of the year was on Tuesday where we managed to retain the trophy for the KS1 cluster and academy schools athletics competition. In a similar set up to sports day children took part in 8 field events, a sprint and a whole team relay.

In our first year of taking part in academy competitions we have also come 3rd in football and 2nd in netball.

Thank you to all the children for their hard work, determination and teamwork throughout the sporting year. You have all been superstars and proudly represented Ellesmere Primary School! Also a big thank you to all parents/guardians for your support throughout the year.

Well done everyone!
